About Our Classes

All classes will take place in-person at our Thrive to Five Family Resource Center located on the campus of Thew Elementary School at 2130 E. Howe Ave. in Tempe.
*If you need American Sign Language interpretation or other accommodations for any Thrive to Five class, please make a request 2 weeks prior to the class by completing this form. We will be in touch with you regarding your needs. Follow us on social media

Class Information for June 2024
After you submit your Interest Form, you will receive a confirmation email to confirm the information you submitted. If you are selected to participate in a class, you will be contacted at least 7 business days prior to the start of your class time by a Thrive to Five staff member. You must respond to the staff member by the time given to keep your place in the class.

June Classes 2024
Higher Octave Healing: Start with Music: (0-5 yrs)
Description:
Start with Music is a fun and interactive music class for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers. During this 4-week course, children will sing and play while strengthening bonds with their caregivers and building new relationships with peers. Caregivers will see their child’s social, communication, and literacy skills improve with each class as well as learn about how music can help children learn and grow. All classes are led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist specially trained to work with young children. Each participant will also receive their own instrument kit to use in class and take home with them to keep. Come make music with us!
Dates/Times:
This class series is for 4 weeks, held on Tuesdays(pm) and Wednesdays(am)
Tuesdays at 4:00-4:45 p.m. on June 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th

Description:
You and your child will have a time to play together and to play with new friends! Come explore a variety of learning stations, like math, dress up, puzzles, blocks, reading, games, and more.

Description:
Children love Dinosaurs! Join us for Hands-On Activities for children where your child will have the opportunity to pretend to be a paleontologist. We will dig for dinosaur fossils and you will take a fossil print home with you!

Parent Cafe (Parent-only support session)
Description:
Join us for coffee and collaboration…Lets share information, talk about new topics and learning opportunities for parents and families with children 0-5 years old. Coffee/Water and a continental breakfast will be provided. Space is limited, so please register early. (Parent-only support group, free childcare will be provided until capacity has been reached.)

Story Time & Craft: “The Grumpy Morning” (0-3 yrs)
Description:
Young children may not be able to read fully on their own, but they still love stories! Interactive read-aloud stories promote reading and communication skills early on. This session encourages literacy for our young learners which is important in sparking a love for reading that they will carry throughout their education. A craft that coordinates with the story will be included, providing an opportunity for children to interact with each other and their parent/caregiver.

Description:
Join us for a fun story time and craft activity together as we read “Brown Bear Brown Bear, what do you see?” This will be a light-hearted and interactive story time that provides hands-on activities for children to increase vocabulary, color and picture recognition.

Description:
This Ocean themed class will definitely be a fun sensory exploration under the sea! We will read an ocean book and sing songs. Preschoolers will have fun exploring with sand, shells, and water as well as creating an ocean animal craft. This session will support small motor skills like cutting pasting and painting.
