All classes will take place in-person at our Thrive to Five Family Resource Center located on the campus of Thew Elementary School at 2130 E. Howe Ave. in Tempe.
*If you need American Sign Language interpretation or other accommodations for any Thrive to Five class, please make a request 2 weeks prior to the class by completing this form. We will be in touch with you regarding your needs. Follow us on social media

December Classes 2023
After you submit your Interest Form, you will receive a confirmation email to confirm the information you submitted. If you are selected to participate in a class, you will be contacted at least 7 business days prior to the start of your class time by a Thrive to Five staff member. You must respond to the staff member by the time given to keep your place in the class.

Safe Sleep Course
What is safe sleep training?
Safe sleep means putting an infant to sleep in ways that can help protect him/her from dangers, like choking and suffocation (not being able to breathe), and sudden infant death syndrome (also called SIDS)
Join us for this course offered by trained staff from Phoenix Children's Hospital. You will learn the benefits and importance of creating a safe sleep environment for your baby. Each family who completes this one-hour course will receive a safe pack-n-play to help prevent infant sleep related injuries.

FREE Car Seat Safety Course
(Parent only workshop)
Did you know…
· Car seats expire 6 years from the date of manufacture
· Your car seat should be replaced after a moderate to severe crash
· 80% of car seats are not installed properly in the vehicle?
· Correct use of car seats reduce the risk of death by as much as 71%
Learn how to keep your child safe in a car and how to install your car seat the right way.
Please note:
· Must be pre-registered to attend. Car seats provided for Pregnant moms or for children up to 8 yrs old.
· Children will not be allowed in the parent workshop. FREE Childcare will be
provided.
· Participants must attend the full 2-hour workshop to receive a FREE car seat. This course will be offered in English therefore participants should be fluent in the language they register for. A Spanish session will be offered in October.

Parent Empowerment & Story time- “Flourishing Families” (0-5 yrs)
Description:
We want to empower parents and caregivers to become educators themselves and help them participate in the joy of their child’s learning during the early developmental years. Experts from the City of Tempe will provide parents a safe space that will equip them with resources and encouragement to maximize positive outcomes within their parenting journey. Story time will be included for your child while parents participate throughout this interactive session.
Highlight for this class: The foundation of the strengthening families approach and the Protective Factors. We’ll learn more about parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development and social and emotional competence of children.

Higher Octave Healing: Start with Music: (0-5 yrs old)
Description:
Start with Music is a fun and interactive music class for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers. During this 4-week course, children will sing and play while strengthening bonds with their caregivers and building new relationships with peers. Caregivers will see their child’s social, communication, and literacy skills improve with each class as well as learn about how music can help children learn and grow. All classes are led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist specially trained to work with young children. Each participant will also receive their own instrument kit to use in class and take home with them to keep. Come make music with us!

Todas las clases son en persona y se llevan a cabo en nuestro Centro de Recursos Familiares Thrive to Five ubicado en el campus de la Escuela Primaria Thew en 2130 E. Howe Ave. en Tempe.
